Secret #5- Creating An “Army Of You” To Do Your Dirty Work For You.
Okay, this is where your efforts get put into overdrive. You see, like we discussed earlier, when you are using offline methods of attracting talent to your band, you actually have to go out and spend time in those offline places.
The nice things about online communities are that they offer you a way to leverage your time. You see, with online communities you can sort of do the work once and have it pay off for you over and over again. Why, because once you post something or participate in online forums, it is archived and remains there for others to read at a later date.
Leverage is a powerful concept that you need to understand when trying to achieve the goal of building your band. Think about it this way, being able to set something up and then forget about it means that you are free to do other things. In particular, you will be free to participate in other social networking activities.
Think of it as a fishing expedition. You could go out and drop a line in the water and see what happens or you can drop several lines in the water and increase your chances of success.
This is what you are trying to accomplish here. In essence you are trying to establish a presence that puts you in all places at all times! The neat thing about this is that most of your competition will never understand this concept. They won’t educate themselves enough to understand how to beat you in this game. What this means is that not only will you be way cooler than they are in social communities, but you’ll also be involved in more social communities than them as well. What this means is that not only will you be able to attract a greater quantity of potential band mates, but you’ll also be able to attract a much higher quality of people to jam with.
This puts you in a position to start a band with the best of the best and make sure that you always have a back-up plan in case things don’t exactly work out.
So what you want to do is start creating profiles in several social networking communities and start dedicating a few minutes each day of participating in a meaningful way within the communities.
How do I know that someone will be the right player for the band I’m trying to establish? Or the wrong player?

You’ll know it’s the right person when you QUALIFY people based on your individual requirements/ goals. There are ways to do this systematically and automatically. Using the JamRoom Manifesto approach to starting a band, the only people that you deal with have met your qualifications BEFORE you ever audition them. The rest is sorting through that same qualified group and finding your “ideal” band mates. What you consider to be ideal can only come from you and so naturally I CAN’T tell you how you will “know that someone is the right player”. You’ll have to know your ideal band mate before you ever go looking for, or attracting them. Make sense?
