Music Marketing Expert John Oszajca Weighs In On Selling Your Music Online
A few weeks ago I got the chance to interview real-deal music marketing expert, John Oszajca about selling music online.
Because John is such a busy guy, I figured I would only be able to ask him a few of my most burning questions before he would have to run. So you can only imagine my surprise when he gave me about 75 minutes of his time!
He was also kind enough to let me record the interview and share it with you.

But let me give you some back story, if I may…
A few months ago, I stumbled across a really cool website that was geared for musicians to help them sell their music over the web. However, there was something about the website creator that I found to be particularly interesting.
You see, John Oszajca is a living example of the approach to being a musician in the information age that I have adapted into my own life and now openly share with other musicians via the JamRoom Manifesto.
But nevermind that for now…
As it turns out, John Oszajca also happens to be a 3 time Major Label Recording Artist, who had a few brushes with fame, but never quite attained the success he had hoped for with the labels.
While most of us musicians may never know what it’s like to sign a major label deal, John did it 3 times and still walked away with nothing to show for it.
Damn! That really puts things into perspective, huh?
Not to worry though. If you fast forward a few years, John is still a musician and is arguably having more success without a major label deal by marketing his own music over the web.
But that’s not even the tip of the iceberg. John Oszajca is now a music marketing expert & consultant. Recently one of his client’s had such a successful day off of the back of his know-how, that together they shattered the All-time Daily Sales Record for CDBaby.com.
How is that for results?
Anyway, I really wanted to talk to John. So I tracked him down and asked if he wouldn’t mind doing an interview. Thankfully he said yes!
